How you’ve been? I can’t believe the first month of 2014 has already passed! I was pretty much disconnected the whole month, between taking the time to catch up on some of my reading, my baby getting sick, moving to Paris and getting caught up in all the apartment shopping whirlwind, life pretty much happened without me even checking my Facebook or twitter account! Weird, isn’t it? In this 24/7 online world, I found it quite refreshing to sign out. Not that I didn’t miss the whole aspect of getting the latest news and research from my twitter feed or my newsletters, I was happy to be out of the loop for once.
I’m not fully back actually; we haven’t found our apartment yet, we’re still cramped up in our hotel room with all the suitcases, the toys, the dirty laundry and the two-minute dinners ( I guess i’ll do a post on that later this week). But let’s hope the search won’t be for much longer.
Meanwhile, I’m here to share with you a nice new concept in Lebanon. I’ve been contacted by the people behind Purple Pineapple Pot to attend a bartending workshop in Cargo Pub, Mar Mikhael On Sunday the second of February. That’s tomorrow:)
Unfortunately, I can’t make it but three of you will be able to get a 10% special discount to the event by entering this promotional code BW#18301 before checking out. Only the first three who sign up will get the discount. It is an all-day workshop ( from 10 am till 5 pm) with a professional, so it’s well worth your money.
In this course you will:
– Learn the ethics of serving in bartending (Welcoming, pouring, flaring and serving)
– Acquire knowledge about drinks and cocktails of the world
– Visit the world of wine and wine pouring
– Discover the fundamental ingredients and basics of internationally known cocktails.
– Create your own drink by following the instructions.
You may be wondering about Purple Pineapple Pot, and here’s what they have to say in their own words:
“Purple Pineapple Pot is a platform offering one day, quick learning workshops, dealing with basic knowledge in any field suggested. Our lessons are delivered in an original, entertaining and informative way that fulfills all our attendees’ interests. The workshops cover a wide range of subjects to anyone and everyone who wants to add something new to their life. Whether it is a skill, hobby, activity or just extra information for everyday use. We are here to provide you with something new.
Workshops will be given repetitively every weekend for a period of eight weeks. When the eight weeks pass, a new batch of topics will be available. However some workshops might be prolonged depending on customer demand. The workshops are taking place in several venues, depending on space, subject, and location.”
So, what’s there not to love? I checked their website and they have some workshops to suit everybody and I’m sure there’ll be plenty more .
I already have my eye on wine tasting, photography, laughter yoga ( was in January), and maybe an auto-makeup course or cooking class ( not offered, but maybe in August when I’m in Lebanon *hint hint* haha)
Anyway, check these guys out, maybe you’ll find something new to learn.
